What the Pro 6S does
Many towers and large villas aren't cooled by split units at all. They use chilled water from a central plant or a district cooling provider, delivered to a fan coil unit in each room. The fan coil has a fan and a water valve, and it's usually run by a simple wall controller with a temperature knob and a fan switch. The Pro 6S replaces that control logic with a smart thermostat.
The thermostat tells the Pro 6S when to cool and how hard. The Pro 6S switches the fan between its three speeds and opens or closes the water valve, or modulates it with a 0-10V signal on units with modulating valves.
2-pipe and 4-pipe
A 2-pipe fan coil has one supply and one return pipe, carrying either chilled or hot water depending on the season. A 4-pipe fan coil has separate pipes for chilled and hot water, so it can heat or cool at any time. The Pro 6S supports both, along with normally open, normally closed and three-wire valves.
Ratings that matter on site
The fan output is rated for AC motors at 100 to 240V, 3A, and the valve output at 100 to 240V, 1A. The adapter powers the thermostat with 24V AC and connects to it over RJ45 and CAT6. It measures 43 by 43 by 28 mm and comes with a 2-year limited warranty.
220V wall thermostats
If your building uses 220V thermostats rather than 24V, the Pro 6S is paired with the DropAir iPanel. Tell us which thermostat you have and we'll include the right parts in the quote.
Questions about the Pro 6S
Does it work with district cooling?
District cooling apartments usually have chilled water fan coils, which is exactly what the Pro 6S controls. Send us a photo of the fan coil label and the current wall controller.
Can it run EC fan motors?
The Pro 6S is built for 3-speed AC fan motors and provides a 0-10V output for modulating valves. Tell us your fan coil model so we can confirm the fan type.
What if my thermostat is 220V?
Pair the Pro 6S with the DropAir iPanel. We include it in the quote when it's needed.
